Hublot

Hublot was founded in 1980. The housing design of the first show was inspired by a porthole of a ship. This is the first time in watchmaking history as natural rubber was associated with gold. The simplicity, comfort and the characteristic shape of Hublot watches have quickly made the coveted pieces. Members of royal families were the first to show their enthusiasm.

To watch brand, the rubber is not a fad but represents its philosophy, its brand image from day one. At that time, Hublot remains one of the last independent family watch companies with a single-product concept. Her total creative freedom allows it to maintain its personality and extend its range by offering complications or limited series.

Since 2004, when Jean-Claude Biver took the role of CEO of Hublot, the “Art of Fusion” has become the mode of thinking and creating in Hublot: combining unexpected materials (ceramics, carbon, tantalum , tungsten, titanium, magnesium …) with precious materials and traditional technologies to use the most high tech while remaining true to the watchmaking know-how of our ancestors.

The new collection launched in 2005 is called the Big Bang. A perfect illustration of the concept of Fusion! The bezel and case have more vivid angles, screws that pass through the case and always remember … a window and keep the pace of the first Hublot, the rubber strap. Within a year, the Big Bang won many prizes in the world of watchmaking. Then while keeping its shape, it was declined in different sizes and accompanied by complications such as Tourbillon Grande Date, Power Reserve Indicator, Rattrapante …

Hublot knows when an explosive growth and, with his passionate and tireless boss embarks on many pioneering activities: the first Internet TV a luxury brand, sponsoring football first show completely invisible setting with baguette diamonds, showcases revolutionary interactive, diverse partnerships.

The first mono-brand Hublot boutiques were opened in Paris and St. Tropez, then to Geneva, Moscow, Dubai, Budapest, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai, Warsaw, Hong Kong … The success of this timepiece has enabled the brand a tenfold increase in sales in four years! April 24, 2008, the world’s leading luxury goods group LVMH, which bought the brand to complement its watchmaking.

Now, in 2009, Hublot built a portion of its movement in its new factory and plans to produce 2000 watches in-house in 2010.
