Born of an invention, the Big House has always been animated by the spirit of discovery, the need to create new wonders of technology, more precise, more complex. Year after year, the knowledge and skills have been enriched, renewed, multiplied to serve a single purpose: to control the countless manufacturing operations of movements and watch cases, prerequisite to meet the technical challenges wildest . Major player in watchmaking history, Jaeger-LeCoultre celebrates its 175th anniversary. The Manufacture has to his credit world firsts, superlatives and legendary watches: the Reverso, the Duoplan, the Master Control, the Memovox Polaris, the one or the Gyrotourbillon Atmos. In 2009, some 1000 people mastering over 40 watchmaking professions and over 20 technology, continue to pay tribute to the pioneering spirit of the founders of the house by creating new masterpieces in the grand watchmaking tradition. In 2010, following the Antoine LeCoultre’s original workshop, Jaeger-LeCoultre walls will grow even with the advent of a new building providing 9,000 m2 of additional workshops.
